Objectives of the Course

To learn the basic operation principles of electrical machines and to obtain the ability of designing basic magnetic circuits.

Course Content
|
Magnetic properties of materials, magnetic circuits, transformers: operating principles, characteristic equivalent circuits and steady state analysis, electromechanical energy conversion principles: linear and non-linear systems D.C. machines: equivalent circuits, performance analysis, operating characteristics, starting and speed control, induction motors and generators, special purpose motors, linear motors, step motors, A.C. machines: structures, equivalent circuits and steady state analysis .
