History
Akdeniz University Faculty of Education Department of Foreign Language Education Division of English Language Teaching has started formal education in 2005-2006 academic year, and evening education in 2009-2010. However, the evening education undergraduate program has been closed and only the formal education-based undergraduate program is active.

Admission Requirements
Students who want to enroll in the department must complete the processes determined by ÖSYM and pass the exams within the framework of the academic and legal legislation of the university. A student who has started his/her education in an equivalent program abroad can apply for transfer. The admission of students is examined and evaluated individually before the semester begins, taking into account each student's conditions and the degree to which he/she has applied. approved by the university. Students coming from abroad within the scope of student exchange programs, the limits of which are determined by the agreement, can also enroll in the courses specified in the course plan.

Graduation Requirements
In order for teacher candidates studying in the program to meet the graduation requirements, they must successfully pass the compulsory courses and the minimum number of elective courses specified in the training catalogue, obtain at least 240 ECTS and have a GPA of 2.00/4.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the English Language Teaching program are appointed as English teachers to public and private educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education with the title of "English teacher". Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs in their field or related fields, provided that they receive a valid score from the Academic Graduate Education Examination (ALES) and have sufficient knowledge of the English language.

In order for teacher candidates studying in the program to meet the graduation requirements, they must successfully pass the compulsory courses and the minimum number of elective courses specified in the training catalogue, obtain at least 240 ECTS and have a GPA of 2.00/4. Different evaluation methods such as "midterm exam" and "final exam" and "homework, project, application" depending on the course content can be used to evaluate the success of students.
