About Programme

Having the knowledge, skills and characteristics required by the teaching profession, having developed verbal ability, internalizing the approaches, methods and techniques of educational science, thinking creatively, critically and scientifically, using information and communication technologies, communicating effectively with students and the environment, being cooperative, entrepreneurial and problem-solving. To train Turkish teachers who are problem solvers, responsible, respectful of different opinions, constantly following the innovations and developments in the field of Turkish education, enjoying reading and learning, and always aiming forward on the basis of continuous improvement.


History
The Department of Turkish Education started education in the 2009-2010 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
Graduates of Turkish Language Teaching program are appointed as Turkish teachers to public and private education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education with the title of "Turkish teacher". Candidates who successfully complete their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs in their field or related fields, provided that they get a valid grade in the Academic Postgraduate Education Examination (ALES) and have sufficient English language proficiency.
Admission Requirements
Students who want to enroll in the department must complete the processes determined by OSYM within the framework of the academic and legal regulations of the university and have passed the exams. A student who has started his education in an equivalent program in the country or abroad can apply for horizontal transfer. Admission of students is examined and evaluated individually, taking into account the conditions of each student and the degree applied for, before the semester starts. Students coming from abroad within the scope of student exchange programs approved by the university and whose boundaries are determined by an agreement, if they have Turkish language proficiency, can enroll in any Turkish course specified in the lesson plan.

In order for the prospective teachers studying in the program to meet the graduation requirements, they must successfully pass the compulsory courses and the minimum number of elective courses specified in the education catalogue, take at least 240 ECTS and have a 2.00/4 average.

Assessment and Grading
In order for the prospective teachers studying in the program to meet the graduation requirements, they must successfully pass the compulsory courses and the minimum number of elective courses specified in the education catalogue, take at least 240 ECTS and have a 2.00/4 average. Success evaluation of students is made with "midterm exam" and "end-of-term exam". According to the content of the course, different evaluation methods such as "homework, project, application" can be used instead of "midterm exam" evaluation.
