The Department of Economics, established as the fourth faculty of Akdeniz University in the 1993-94 academic year, is the first unit of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. As of 2011, it has had a faculty staff of 13 members. In 1995, the Master's Program was launched, followed by the Food Economics and Management Master's Program in 199X, the Doctorate Program in 2003, and also a Non-Thesis Master's Program. The Food Economics and Management Master's Program was established in collaboration with France's CIHEAM-IAMM.

Qualification Awarded
|
Graduates of the program will receive a master's degree diploma upon completion of the thesis-based Master's program in Food Economics and Management.

Admission Requirements
ALES score of at least 55 in equally weighted (quantitative-verbal) or verbal categories, and having taken YDS or an equivalent foreign language exam.
Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: Economics, Business Administration, Econometrics, Statistics, Faculty of Agriculture (all departments), Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Public Relations, Journalism, Sociology, Psychology, or Anthropology.

Higher Grade Transition

The transition to the advanced level is designed as a comprehensive development period for students seeking in-depth expertise in the field of food. During this process, interdisciplinary knowledge integration and scientific application skills are emphasized.

Graduation Requirements
|
Courses must be successfully completed during the semester, and a sufficient master's thesis must be written on time.
