About Programme
|
The Department of Economics is the first unit of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, which became operational in the 1993-94 academic year as the fourth faculty of Akdeniz University. Economics department, qualified academic staff, economics undergraduate program, international master's programs (economics with thesis, economics without thesis and food economics and management thesis) and economics doctoral program, research projects (EU Framework Programs, TUBITAK, University Research Fund, Private Sector, It has successfully completed many research projects supported by International Organizations), continues its pioneering role in the development of the faculty with its effectiveness in international academic publications and international scientific cooperation.

Qualification Awarded
|
The main mission of the department is to equip students with basic knowledge, information tools and methods for their professional life in public economic institutions and the private sector by providing education at an international level, and to contribute to the national and international economic literature and the development of the economy of Türkiye and the Western Mediterranean Region through applied economics and scientific research projects.

Admission Requirements
|
Students are accepted to the department according to the scores received in the university entrance exam.
|
Graduation Requirements
|
For graduation, a course load equivalent to 240 ECTS credits must be completed.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Our graduates have the opportunity to work as administrative personnel in all public institutions, the private sector, civil society and professional organizations; and as experts and researchers in the aforementioned institutions.

Assessment and Grading
|
Measurement and evaluation in courses are done through written exams, preparation, reporting and presentation of small and/or comprehensive homework assignments.
